I've been designing, building & producing websites since 1999. And I love pixels.

Who am I?

I currently live in Stockholm, Sweden, and I work for myself as an independent design & production specialist. My company is called Love What You Do, and I'll be building a full website for it very shortly.

My xBox Avatar

When I'm not clicking, dragging or typing, I'm usually:

  • pretentiously discussing music, films, books and TV;
  • nitpicking at grammar;
  • listening obsessively to Bruce Springsteen, The Divine Comedy and Prince;
  • refreshing Mac Rumors
  • watching live comedy;
  • slowly learning the guitar;
  • watching the footy;
  • enjoying short cocktails

I'm also partial to compiling vaguely ironic playlists on Spotify, playing the odd game of Street Fighter IV on XBox or shooting pool in the pub.

What do I do?

Well, lots of things really. I've worked on a wide variety of interactive projects: from small web sites for start-up companies right through to huge portals & campaigns for major brands such as BBC, HTC and Range Rover.

My broad skillset spans a number of disciplines, so I can either work on specific parts of a project, eg just the design, or I can put the whole thing together from start to finish. Naturally, I can't do everything; so if there's something required that's outside my expertise, then it might just be a case of me doing some R&D, or I might ask an expert I know to help out.

Here's a brief summary of my key services:

  • Project Management & Strategy
  • User Experience & IA
  • Art Direction & Design
  • Website Design and Build
  • Shopify eCommerce
  • Email, Search Engine & Social Media Marketing
  • Copywriting

Skills

I've been doing this web stuff for over eleven years and I've also been privileged to work with some hugely talented and skilled people. So I've built up a variety of specialist knowledge and software proficiency.

Lovely Adobe CS

My core skillset is based around front-end design. I'm an expert in HTML/CSS, web standards, SEO, Fireworks, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver and all that goodness. I can handle the majority of other industry-standard software, and I'm well versed in client-side/server-side technologies, development platforms and other stuff at the nerdier end of the spectrum.

The less nerdier side of me brings other, ahem, 'softer' skills to the table too – I've often authored large documents and given presentations to groups of people, so I'm a pretty good written and verbal communicator.
